Happy Birthday to me!

Yesterday was a once in a life time event. My day was rather ordinary but for the only time in my entire life I was able to turn the same digits as my birth day. 31 on the 31st. That was pretty much the most exciting part of my day too! I spent the day babysitting, going to toddler story time, visiting the grocery store, babysitting again, making dinner and then finally going to church. Not anything unsual about that. Two events in the day did make me very happy though. As I was getting the two year old I sit for in the car, she smiled and said "Miss Kim, I love you!". It was so sweet and tender and the first time I had heard her say it since I began watching her in August. I think she must have somehow known I needed a "pick me up" for the day. :) The second was receiving flowers and cards from my hubby and kids. That was really nice!

After church, my friend, Sheri and I went out for a while. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise and ate mini cheeseburgers. They were really yummy! Then as we were getting ready to order dessert, the waiter came over with ice cream and a candle and they sang a very quick "Happy Birthday". I mean quick. I think it went something like "This birthday song is very short" and they walked away. It was the perfect song! lol Later, as we laughed about all sorts of silly stuff, Sheri and I split a chocolate nacho dessert. It arrived with two scoops of vanilla ice cream and large nacho chips fried in some sort of sweet sugar, drizzled in chocolate sauce and topped with strawberries and sprinkles. It was SOOOO good. It was also extremely messy! Great thing to eat with a friend, not on a first date! After all that it actually felt more like my birthday and I went home feeling happy and content. I have survived 31 years on this earth and I am proud of it! :)
